Microbiology is concerned with the study of the interactions of microorganisms with other organisms and humans identify how some of these organisms cause diseases, discover cures for such diseases and even use some microbes for industrial purposes.

A person who specializes in this field is can work in many different job areas, in a variety of different job roles and can practice career in research and hospitals laboratories.

Objectives:                                                                                                                                                      

1.      To identify the general characters, classifications,pathogenicity and methods of laboratory diagnosis of bacteria, fungi and viruses.

2.      To practice different techniques used to identify each microorganism.

3.      To studyImmunology which deals with the immune system. It studies the relationship between the body, pathogens and the immune system, and understand the principles of the immunological techniques and their applications

4.      To have knowledge about infection control which is concerned with the sources of infection in the community and health institutions, in particular as related to medical/facilities, the measures of prevention,
